OLOR Waitara - Yr 6 Winter Sleepout 2015
Story
Hello Families and Friends of OLOR Year 6 2015,
Mini Vinnies is a group of primary school children who get together, organise and talk about helping others in need within their school community. It is about building community. It promotes values of social justice and introduces children to the spirituality of the St Vincent de Paul Society. Mini Vinnies also introduces children to the many good works that the St Vincent de Paul Society operate. This year, as in previous years, the Year 6 students of OLOR are members of this special group.
This year all Year 6 students will become members of a special OLOR Mini Vinnies Group. One of our major social justice initiatives will be a “Winter Sleep Out” to be held on Friday 28 August (Week 7) at the school (in the Year 6 classrooms). The children will be seeking sponsorship from their families and friends for their participation in the sleep-out.
Through here you can easily support our efforts by making a secure donation.

Thanks so much for your support!
Activity
St Vincent de Paul Society NSW (Vinnies NSW)
The St Vincent de Paul Society in NSW has been helping the community since 1881. Every day, the Society's 16,000 members and volunteers help vulnerable and marginalised people in their local communities by visiting them in their homes, providing assistance and referring them to other services when needed. Last year our local member networks provided around $20 million worth of financial and material assistance to hundreds of thousands of people experiencing disadvantage.
