The event is an opportunity for government, business and community members to be part of a national initiative aimed at highlighting the growing issue of homelessness in Australia.
Participants will come together for a night of shared learning, reflection and experience, in an effort to help raise awareness and much-needed funds for the prevention of homelessness in Western Sydney.
The night will be an experiential, no frills affair. Participants will be given no more than a beanie, a sheet of cardboard and a cup of soup before sleeping out on the grass at the university campus.
This event fundraising target is $100,000, which will fund the continuation and expansion of Vinnies programs across Western Sydney to support those at risk of homelessness through assessment and referral, emergency relief support, and social justice and advocacy.

St Vincent de Paul Society NSW (Vinnies NSW)
The St Vincent de Paul Society in NSW has been helping the community since 1881. Every day, the Society's 16,000 members and volunteers help vulnerable and marginalised people in their local communities by visiting them in their homes, providing assistance and referring them to other services when needed. Last year our local member networks provided around $20 million worth of financial and material assistance to hundreds of thousands of people experiencing disadvantage.
